CVS disputes Planned Parenthood ‘strategic partnership’ claim as report language changes; critics push back https://ift.tt/kWbXFqx

CVS is disputing a Planned Parenthood claim of a "strategic partnership" on abortion pill access, as the organization’s website no longer includes language that previously referenced such a relationship. "The team that manages our Reproductive Health program is unaware of anything related to that organization beyond standard abortifacient dispensing for individuals with prescriptions," a CVS spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The company added that it "do[es] not have a formal partnership with Planned Parenthood of Greater New York beyond filling prescriptions." CVS added it did not indicate any agreement or coordination with Planned Parenthood beyond dispensing legally prescribed medication. ABORTION PILL MIFEPRISTONE STAYS AVAILABLE BY MAIL FOR NOW AS FDA FACES 6-MONTH REVIEW DEADLINE "There’s a little bit of mystery here," Shawn Carney, president of 40 Days for Life , told Fox News Digital. Winery belonging to Ilhan Omar's husband shut down amid financial spotlight https://ift.tt/fA316lE

A California winery partially owned by the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., abruptly shut down in early April as House Republicans scrutinize Omar's net worth. Omar's financial disclosures show Mynett owns a stake in eStCru Wines, a California wine business that shut down as of April 4, according to California business records obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. "Ilhan Omar has spent her entire career covering up Democrat-enabled fraud that cost taxpayers billions, so it's no surprise that she would do the same for her husband. Voters see right through the corrupt lies of Ilhan Omar and her Democrat colleagues, and they'll pay the consequences of their crimes at the ballot box this November," Republican National Committee spokeswoman Delanie Bomar told Fox News Digital. The shutdown comes amid a House Oversight Committee probe into Omar's finances, with her husband's assets a major area of focus. ILHAN OMAR VINEGAR ATTACKER CHANGES PLEA A...

Trump DOJ jumps into Musk xAI court battle as diversity fight heats up https://ift.tt/9IBSZKV

The Department of Justice joined forces with Elon Musk on Friday by backing a lawsuit his xAI company brought against Colorado alleging a state law regulating artificial intelligence developers was a masked effort to force them to adopt diversity, equity and inclusion on their platforms. DOJ Civil Rights Division head Harmeet Dhillon said DOJ's intervention was the department's first constitutional challenge in an AI case.  Colorado faces allegations from the DOJ and xAI that its state law, set to take effect in June, violates the First and 14th amendments by forcing AI developers to inadvertently discriminate, an allegation familiar to Colorado, which has faced a string of legal losses in other high-profile culture war cases in recent years.  "We join @xai's landmark suit, and stand against woke DEI standards being imposed by Colorado," Dhillon said. Republicans eye ending government shutdowns forever over fears Dems will do it again https://ift.tt/U7jrI1G

Senate Republicans are worried that Democrats will force a government shutdown in the fall, and are eyeing ways to prevent government funding from being weaponized ever again. Republicans are in the early stages of funding federal immigration enforcement through the party-line budget reconciliation process — a maneuver that would cut Democrats out of the process altogether. The push comes as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remains closed after Democrats more than 60 days ago refused to fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) unless Republicans agreed to stringent reforms, including warrant requirements and agents unmasking. SENATE TAKES FIRST STEP TO FUND ICE, BORDER PATROL IN BID TO CUT DEMS OUT OF THE FUNDING PROCESS Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., said "it was a great idea," and claims conversations were ongoing about how to include a measure in the reconciliation package that could survive the stric...

China-linked route exposed after US seizes Iran-bound ship with suspected dual-use cargo https://ift.tt/71Xbe0i

An Iranian-flagged cargo ship recently seized by U.S. forces had recently traveled through Chinese ports , spotlighting a supply route now under scrutiny as officials probe suspected dual-use cargo aboard the vessel. The vessel, Touska, remains in U.S. custody as American forces continue inspecting what maritime security sources told Reuters is likely "dual-use" cargo — materials that can serve both civilian and military purposes — following a voyage from Asia . Shipping data shows the Touska made multiple recent stops in Zhuhai, a major port in southern China, before transiting through Southeast Asia and heading toward Iran — part of a pathway analysts say has helped Iran sustain trade flows despite U.S. pressure. The seizure comes as part of a broader U.S. effort to enforce a naval blockade on Iran aimed at pressuring Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping lane.
