Pentagon's week of power struggles: leak fallout and shouting matches hit Hegseth's inner circle https://ift.tt/91VGwu6

FIRST ON FOX: Bitter internal feuds at the Pentagon spilled out into the public this week after members of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's inner circle were relieved of their duties — and now accusations are flying as careers hang in the balance.  Three top aides to Hegseth were placed on leave and escorted out of the building this week as the Pentagon probes unauthorized leaks: senior adviser Dan Caldwell, deputy chief of staff Darin Selnick and Colin Carroll, chief of staff to Deputy Secretary of Defense Stephen Feinberg. Another press aide, John Ullyot, parted ways with the Pentagon because he did not want to be second-in-command of the communications shop.  But Fox News Digital has learned from multiple defense officials that the three employees were never told what they were accused of leaking, were not read their rights and were given no guidance on who they could or couldn’t speak to. They were also not asked to turn over their cellphones as part of the leak prob...

It also called for measures to curb in-prison radicalization and study extremism within the military. Chris Van Hollen, D-Maryland, said on Tuesday evening that he would be flying to El Salvador in the morning to visit the deported migrant. AOC claims Republicans will 'trick' Americans into identity politics, stoking racial divisions https://ift.tt/vema4kP

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., told rally attendees not to let Republicans "trick" them into thinking they "can be separated" by race or into stoking "deep divisions along race, identity and culture," despite President Donald Trump's recent efforts to rid identity politics from public and private spaces. The progressive "Squad" lawmaker's comments came at a "Fighting Oligarchy" rally Monday night in Idaho alongside Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. It was the pair's latest stop in a tour of appearances across the country.  "The only chance they have to get away with such an unpopular and hurtful agenda is to stoke deep divisions along race, identity and culture to keep us fighting and distracted. It's not going to work anymore," AOC told rally goers. "Don't let them trick us into thinking we are enemies. Don't let them trick us into being weak and being into thinking we can be separated into ru...

Trump says he's looking at certain tariff exemptions for automakers: 'They need a little bit of time' https://ift.tt/lJCDY8S

President Donald Trump told reporters Monday afternoon that he was "looking" into potential part-specific tariff exemptions for carmakers, underscoring Trump's stance that it is important to be "flexible" amid the current trade negotiations. Trump's signal about a potential reprieve for auto manufacturers comes after the administration moved to exempt electronic devices — such as smartphones, iPhones and laptops — from the president's reciprocal tariffs on Friday. Trump's decision to provide certain exemptions falls in line with his stance that it is crucial to be "flexible" amid the ongoing trade negotiations, but Democrats have criticized the recent exemptions for adding more uncertainty to the situation. "I'm looking at something to help some of the car companies, where they are switching to parts that were made in Canada, Mexico and other places," the president told reporters from the Oval Office Monday afternoon, durin...

Cuomo lands key endorsement as comeback bid for NYC mayor heats up https://ift.tt/Uz9E4rt

Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is showcasing the backing of two powerful labor unions as he runs for mayor of the nation's most populous city. The former three-term Democratic governor, who resigned amid multiple scandals in 2021, was endorsed on Monday by the labor groups 32BJ SEIU and Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, which represent building service workers and hotel and casino employees. The endorsements, which are highly coveted in heavily unionized New York City, will likely further cement Cuomo's frontrunner status in June's Democratic Party mayoral primary, as he runs to oust embattled Mayor Eric Adams from City Hall. "The members of @32BJSEIU and @NYHTC are the backbone of NY. They clean our buildings, run our hotels, care for our communities, and keep this city moving. Without a strong middle class, no city can survive – let alone thrive – and right now, we are dangerously close to losing them," Cuomo warned in a statement on social media. CUOMO ...

SCOOP: Arizona to begin removing as many as 50K noncitizens from voter rolls following lawsuit https://ift.tt/CYASOn6

EXCLUSIVE: All 15 Arizona counties have now begun the process of verifying and removing noncitizens from their voter rolls, including nearly 50,000 registrants who did not provide proof of U.S. citizenship. "This settlement is a great result for all Arizonans," America First Legal (AFL) senior counsel James Rogers told Fox News Digital after his organization’s successful lawsuit spearheaded the process in Arizona. AFL filed the lawsuit against the 15 Arizona counties last year on behalf of EZAZ.org, and Yvonne Cahill, a registered voter and naturalized citizen, arguing that the counties had not been following a state law that requires proof of citizenship to vote in local and state elections and for the state to do monthly checks of the rolls for noncitizens. He was joined by Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., who the 83-year-old Sanders noted is the youngest member of Congress, and "in my view, one of the best members."  "This country faces some very difficult challenges and the future of what happens to America is dependent upon your generation. Now you can turn away and you can ignore what goes on but if you do that, you do it at your own peril. We need you to stand up, to fight for justice. To fight for economic justice, social justice, and racial justice," Sanders told the crowd.  TRUMP CHAMPIONS JESUS' 'MIRACULOUS RESURRECTION' IN PALM SUNDAY MESSAGE VOWING...
