WATCH: Dozens of migrants breach border wall, take selfies on US side as mass illegal crossings continue https://ift.tt/c9m81UD

Dozens of migrants were seen breaching the United States-Mexico border wall in Arizona over the weekend, where a video caught them crossing unimpeded and taking selfies once they got onto American soil. Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin shared the video, which was taken in Lukeville, Arizona, on Friday. It appears to show dozens of women, children and whole family units, dressed casually and in clean clothes, carrying their belongings. Several of the migrants are seen holding cellphones and celebrating their entry. The breach comes amid record illegal immigration entries under President Biden , especially in the Tucson Sector, which remains one of the busiest areas of illegal crossings. It also comes just days after U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested five child sex offenders at the southern border — at the Yuma, Tucson, El Paso, Del Rio, and Rio Grande Valley sectors — and as the FBI warned Monday of a "wide array" of dangerous threats coming from the U.S. bo...

Lawyer who exposed Willis-Wade relationship reacts to court ruling: ‘Disqualified’ https://ift.tt/LUDrOk6

Georgia attorney Ashleigh Merchant claimed vindication after a Fulton County judge issued a ruling in the disqualification proceedings against District Attorney Fani Willis.   In an order Friday, Judge Scott McAfee said that Willis must either withdraw herself and her team from the 2020 election interference case or remove Wade as special prosecutor. The decision came after Merchant, on behalf of her client Michael Roman, first alleged that Willis had had an "improper" affair with Wade before hiring him to prosecute former President Trump and his 18 co-defendants in 2021.  "While we believe the court should have disqualified Willis’ office entirely, this opinion is a vindication that everything put forth by the defense was true, accurate and relevant to the issues surrounding our client's right to a fair trial. The judge clearly agreed with the defense that the actions of Willis are a result of her poor judgment and that there is a risk to the future of this case...

Lawmakers blast Biden Gaza port plan as political move to win back progressives https://ift.tt/69csJB1

House Republicans are accusing President Biden of building a temporary aid port for Gaza in a bid to win back progressive voters ahead of November, and they're worried it will put American lives at risk. Biden unveiled a plan to build a temporary floating port off the coast of Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians who were displaced as a result of the war between Israel and Hamas.  International groups and several nations have raised concerns about the spread of famine and disease while struggling to get food and medical aid to the population there. The initiative is expected to take several weeks, and it still remains unclear what the cost would be to taxpayers. WORLD, UN SIGNAL NO EXIT FOR CIVILIANS CAUGHT UP IN GAZA WAR: 'POLITICALLY TOXIC' Though the administration announced it would not require American troops to set foot in Gaza, lawmakers raised concerns about their proximity to the war zone. Dem Sen. Warnock calls Laken Riley Act 'smoke and mirrors,' by people who aren't 'serious' https://ift.tt/tnQeE7p

Democratic Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock called the Republican-led Laken Riley Act "smoke and mirrors" on Tuesday, accusing lawmakers of failing to do anything substantive to address the crisis at the southern border.  The legislation, which was passed in the House , would require the Department of Homeland Security to take illegal immigrants into custody if they have been charged with theft-related crimes. Warnock appeared on MSNBC's "The ReidOut" with host Joy Reid on Tuesday when he was asked about what the legislation would do to address crime.  REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN INTRODUCES ‘LAKEN RILEY ACT’   "Let me, first of all, just say that my heart goes out to this young woman’s family. White House says Biden ‘absolutely did not apologize’ for calling Laken Riley’s alleged killer an ‘illegal’ https://ift.tt/gyxCRae

The White House on Monday said President Biden "absolutely did not apologize" for referring to the alleged illegal immigrant killer of Georgia student Laken Riley as "an illegal" – the latest turn in a spiraling controversy over an unscripted remark at the State of the Union. "First of all, I want to be really clear about something: the president absolutely did not apologize," White House spokesperson Olivia Dalton told reporters when asked about why Biden "apologized." "There was no apology anywhere in that conversation. He did not apologize. He used a different word." Biden had been urged by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to say the name of Riley, who was killed last month, allegedly by a Venezuelan national who entered the country illegally but was paroled into the interior. BIDEN SAYS HE REGRETS USING ‘ILLEGAL’ TO DESCRIBE LAKEN RILEY MURDER SUSPECT DURING STATE OF THE UNION  "Lincoln Riley [sic]," he said, hold...

Lara Trump says RNC must use 'legal ballot harvesting' for first time to stay competitive against Democrats https://ift.tt/KeswW1R

Lara Trump, recently elected co-chair of the Republican National Committee , said the GOP must use "legal ballot harvesting" to stay competitive against Democrats ahead of November.  "We’ve been playing checkers, and the Democrats have been playing chess," Trump, daughter-in-law to former President Trump, said in a recent interview with the Washington Examiner. "Unfortunately, we don’t have one day of voting, we don’t have paper ballots, we don’t have voter ID everywhere. So we have to play the hand that we’re dealt."  She emphasized the importance of early voting and mail-in voting where possible. "That way, we have votes banked as we head into Election Day, and we’re not playing catchup on Nov. 5 with the Democrats," she said.  "We need to be doing legal ballot harvesting – something that has never been done by the RNC, but I can promise you will be a huge part of what we’re planning to do," Lara Trump told the Examiner. "A...

House Speaker Johnson chastises Biden for apology to Laken Riley murder suspect: 'What an embarrassment' https://ift.tt/KD8pn7X

House Speaker Mike Johnson blasted President Biden as an "embarrassment" for seemingly apologizing to Laken Riley's accused killer instead of to the slain student's family.  "The president is cowering to his base and showing deference to a man who deserves none. This man is an illegal immigrant who brutally murdered Laken Riley. President Biden should be apologizing to Laken’s family. What an embarrassment," Johnson wrote on X on Sunday, responding to Biden's interview with MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart that aired Saturday. At the urging of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Biden, during an off-script moment in his State of the Union address on Thursday, decried Riley's killing by "an illegal." The president later backtracked during his interview with Capehart, saying he should have instead used the word "undocumented" to describe Jose Ibarra, a Venezuelan national charged with murdering Riley, an Augusta University nursing st...
