Trump administration ends temporary protected status for thousands of Afghans amid deportation push https://ift.tt/fTCmqEz

The Trump administration is ending the protected status for thousands of Afghans who entered the U.S. after its chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 under the Biden administration.  The U.S. Department of Homeland Security doesn’t plan to renew Afghans' Temporary Protected Status (TPS), which lasts six to 18 months and applies to people from countries that are war-torn or have a natural disaster or some other event that makes returning dangerous.  The U.S. military evacuated more than 82,000 Afghans from the country when the U.S. withdrew in 2021, and the Taliban took over.  TALIBAN LEADER SAYS ‘NO NEED’ FOR LAWS FROM THE WEST IN AFGHANISTAN: ‘WE WILL CREATE OUR OWN LAWS’ Thousands of Cameroonians are also expected to lose their status.  DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin told Reuters that DHS Secretary Kristi Noem has determined that the situation in Afghanistan and Cameroon no longer meets the standard for the Afghans and Cameroonians to have TPS prote...

Biden's team hid the truth about his health all along: WH press sec https://ift.tt/MGIsEQV

The Biden administration engaged in a "cover-up" by failing to disclose details about the health of former President Joe Biden , according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.  "I can tell you there was certainly a lack of transparency from the former president, from the entire former administration," Leavitt told reporters on Friday. "And frankly, a lot of people in this room, when it came to the health in the competence of the former President of the United States, Joe Biden — there was one of the greatest cover-ups and, frankly, political scandals this nation has ever seen. It's been unraveled in some recent books that are being written by journalists who engaged in that cover-up in scandal, which is quite ironic."  A spokesperson for Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.  BIDEN AIDES ‘SCRIPTED’ EVERYTHING, ALLOWED HIS FACULTIES TO ‘ATROPHY,’ NEW BOOK CLAIMS New books out have detailed Bide...

Musk says DOGE set to top $150B in fraud savings in FY 2026 https://ift.tt/cyHg1al

DOGE Chief Elon Musk says the organization is set to save the U.S. government more than $150 billion in cuts to waste and fraud in FY 2026. Musk made the comment during a public Cabinet meeting with President Donald Trump on Thursday.  "We anticipate savings in FY 26 from reduction of waste and fraud by $150 billion. And, I mean, and some of it is just absurd. Like people getting unemployment insurance who haven't been born yet," Musk said. "People ask me how are you going to find waste and fraud in a government? I'm like, well, actually, just go in any direction. That's how you find it. It's very common. It's, as a military would say, a target-rich environment," he continued. TRUMP SAYS HE'LL 'TAKE A LOOK' AT EXEMPTING SOME LARGER US COMPANIES HIT ESPECIALLY HARD BY TARIFFS "So, I think we're doing a lot of good, and in excellent collaboration with the Cabinet, to achieve these savings. And it will actually result in b...

FIRST ON FOX — The Food and Drug Administration is phasing out an animal testing requirement for antibody therapies and other drugs in favor of testing on materials that mimic human organs, the FDA announced on Thursday.  "For too long, drug manufacturers have performed additional animal testing of drugs that have data in broad human use internationally. This initiative marks a paradigm shift in drug evaluation and holds promise to accelerate cures and meaningful treatments for Americans while reducing animal use," FDA Commissioner Martin A. Makary, said in comment provided to Fox News Digital.   "By leveraging AI-based computational modeling, human organ model-based lab testing, and real-world human data, we can get safer treatments to patients faster and more reliably, while also reducing R&D costs and drug prices. Biden aides 'scripted' everything, allowed his faculties to 'atrophy,' new book claims https://ift.tt/nX4Zpfk

White House aides cut off outside access to former President Joe Biden, which ultimately backfired and worsened his cognitive function, according to a new book. The book, "Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History," published Tuesday, claims the White House kept Biden from socializing even with those he regarded as friends and allies.  "Even Biden’s acquaintances were kept at bay," Chris Whipple, a former producer for CBS’ "60 Minutes," wrote. "Bill Daley, former White House chief of staff to Barack Obama, paid frequent visits to one of the president’s senior advisors in the West Wing. ‘I went to the White House a dozen times,’ he told me. ‘Never once did somebody say, ‘Oh, come on in and see the president.’ Never. Everything was scripted."  EX-BIDEN AIDE SAYS FORMER PRESIDENT WAS 'FATIGUED, BEFUDDLED, AND DISENGAGED' PRIOR TO JUNE DEBATE: BOOK Not everyone in the White House thought it...

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt insisted Tuesday that "all options are on the table for each country" when it comes to making deals over the latest U.S. tariffs, but warned to those who retaliate that President Donald Trump "has a spine of steel and he will not break."  Leavitt said since Trump’s "Liberation Day" tariff announcements, 70 countries have already reached out to the president to begin negotiations.   "On the other hand, countries like China who have chosen to retaliate and try to double down on their mistreatment of American workers are making a mistake. President Trump has a spine of steel and he will not break," Leavitt added, referencing 34% retaliatory tariffs that China unveiled against the U.S. last week.  Leavitt told Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich that Trump is "very much focused on ensuring that these deals are good for the American worker, they are good for American manufact...

Campus activists push for anti-Trump 'mutual defense compact' of major universities https://ift.tt/2zHPkdy

A group of universities, many of which receive significant federal funding, could soon rebel against President Donald Trump's executive orders clamping down on progressive initiatives in public education, if campus activists have their way. Members of a Rutgers University advisory board recently passed a resolution for establishing a "Mutual Defense Compact" to pool legal and policy resources of the member institutions within the Big Ten Academic Alliance in opposition to the Trump administration's orders. The resolution calls on Rutgers President Jonathan Holloway to spearhead the effort and to "take a leading role in convening a summit of Big Ten academic and legal leadership to initiate the implementation of this Compact." One professor who spoke with Fox News Digital quipped in response that "the left has discovered free speech." "These are the same people who had who would punish other members of the university community for using th...

Legacy media, DC journos come around to investigating Dem scandals years after conservatives sounded alarm https://ift.tt/w6otY7j

Legacy media and longtime politics reporters are increasingly reporting on scandals that rocked the Democratic Party ahead of the November election, shining additional light on political issues that Republicans had long spotlighted and railed against.  "A full 4½ years after The Post’s bombshell series on Hunter Biden’s influence-peddling schemes, The New York Times has deigned to take an interest in the former First Son’s corruption," the New York Post's editorial board wrote in a piece last week slamming the New York Times for reporting on Biden corruption allegations years after other outlets had already uncovered reported details.  "We’d say the Times’ willingness to at long last cover this comes better late than never, but it only published the story now that it doesn’t remotely matter anymore," the editorial board continued.  The New York Times declared in an article published on Friday that former first son Hunter Biden "sought support from th...
