Tesla Takedown: Anti-Musk protesters mobilize for Global Day of Protest at hundreds of Tesla locations https://ift.tt/hqnuxjV

Amid a wave of violence against Tesla vehicles, showrooms and charging stations, anti-Musk protesters could see their biggest show of force yet as the decentralized movement known as Tesla Takedown is planning a "Global Day of Protest" targeting more than 500 Tesla locations worldwide.  The protests slated for Saturday have been promoted by actors, filmmakers, congressional legislators, academics and activists who led a "mass mobilizing call" last week to drum up support. More than 275 Tesla locations in the U.S. and over 500 worldwide will be targeted as part of the effort.  While the protests against Elon Musk and Tesla have lately involved destructive tactics, leaders who have been promoting Saturday's event, such as progressive Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, have said the protests will be "nonviolent." VANDAL STRIKES CYBERTRUCK, TESLA OWNER HITS BACK "We are fighting for our country," Crockett said during the mass mobilization cal...

California under investigation by Trump admin for allegedly hiding 'gender identity' of kids https://ift.tt/q160mMn

The U.S. Department of Education launched an investigation of the California Department of Education over alleged violations of the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act (FERPA) after a new California law went into effect that bars schools from disclosing a child's "gender identity" to their parents.  FERPA ensures parents have the right to access their children's educational information, and the Trump administration says that includes interactions with school employees pertaining to gender identity and mental health. "Teachers and school counselors should not be in the business of advising minors entrusted to their care on consequential decisions about their sexual identity and mental health. That responsibility and privilege lies with a parent or trusted loved one," Education Secretary Linda McMahon said in a statement .  "It is not only immoral but also potentially in contradiction with federal law for California schools to hide crucial informati...

From 'food justice' to 'useless surveys,' Trump's Cabinet reveals 'nonsensical' contracts it has canceled https://ift.tt/YQx5APd

President Donald Trump’s Cabinet outlined billions of dollars in contracts it says it has canceled since he took office, including a "$300,000 contract educating on food justice for queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco" and $830 million on surveys described as looking like "anyone’s child in junior high could have put together."  The contracts, which Trump said represented "fraud," are being canceled as Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are trying to eliminate wasteful spending by the federal government.  "Even at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, we canceled a $300,000 contract educating on food justice for queer and transgender farmers in San Francisco. A similar contract we canceled in New York, again educating transgender and queer farmers on food justice and food equality. I’m not even sure what that means, but apparently the last administration wanted to put out taxpayer dollars towards that," Agri...

"We're not finished yet," Obama said in a video promoting the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago next year. "I've always said that the ACA is like a starter house, it was a big step forward, but still just a first step. Now it's up to all of us to keep building on and improving the ACA."
